Janet Rollero: Personal Trainer & Owner, Fitness For U Studio

PHILOSOPHY: To Inspire, Empower and Challenge people with creative sessions to adopt safe and effective workouts that are muscle overuse and injury free.

With twenty years of professional experience behind her, Fitness For U Fitness Studio owner and personal trainer Janet Rollero is committed to helping her clientele achieve and sustain optimal health. “I am a personal trainer because I love teaching people the positive effects of exercise,” says Janet. After receiving a B.S. in Management from Jacksonville University in 1982, Janet worked briefly in sales before becoming a financial analyst. Then in 1989, after the birth of her third child – and the realization of the effects of three pregnancies on her mind and body – she began working out. By 1991, Janet had devoted herself professionally as well as personally to exercise and good health by becoming a professional personal trainer. In 1992, she opened Fitness For U Studio.

In addition to working closely with the clientele at Fitness For U, Janet works onsite at Johnson & Johnson with that company’s employees, and as a guest trainer/instructor at numerous resort destinations and cruise lines. Whether she is personal training one on one or small groups, teaching dance and/or sports training based exercise classes, kickboxing, interval training or Pilates classes, Janet inspires her clients by being accessible, approachable and identifiable. Like many of her clients, she herself struggled with her weight. Despite being a cheerleader throughout middle school, Janet gained a substantial amount of weight early on in high school, and at one point, topped the scales at 190 lbs. After years of rubber band dieting, a bout with the eating disorder Anorexia Nervosa, and battling depression as a result of her ongoing struggle; Janet discovered that exercise combined with consistent good eating habits was the key to looking and feeling the way she wanted to, and to creating mind-body balance. Today, she is living, breathing and moving proof to her clients that it is possible to get healthier at any age and that goals can be obtained and sustained.

Janet recently set a truly challenging goal for herself. “This year, I am planning to compete in my first BodySculpting competition… at 50!” says Rollero. “This has been a goal of mine since I discovered exercise. I want to incorporate my knowledge and put my own discipline to the test. I have experienced being overweight, battled anorexia nervosa and regained my figure and health after three babies. This is just another positive experience I can bring to my clients.”
